
Is there a dish that you’ve always wanted to make, but you’ve never found a recipe that looks quite right? An appetizer, entrée, or dessert you loved at a restaurant, but struggled to replicate at home? Something you fondly remember your grandma cooking or baking for you but, sadly, the recipe was never written down?
Let Chef Lou take over your recipe quest. My broad knowledge of world cuisines, familiarity with all types of ingredients, and years of experience developing clearly written, easy-to-follow instructions make it possible to produce the results you’re looking for. I’ll do the work of researching, testing, and perfecting that elusive recipe just for you. Here’s how it works:
- Contact me at lou@prepholdcook.com
- State the commonly-used name of the dish, if there is one.
- Describe the dish to the best of your ability: ingredients, appearance, flavor, texture, any sauce or accompaniments.
- Give any other information you may have: name and location of the restaurant where you enjoyed the dish; ethnic origin of the dish or of the person who made it; time frame when the dish was popular or when you first encountered it.
- Attach a photo of the dish, if you have one.

I’ll respond within a week and give you my best assessment of success. I’ll quote you on the costs for my time (at $50/hr) and for the required ingredients for testing. Upon acceptance and payment, I’ll send you your recipe within two weeks. Your recipe belongs to you and me only, and will not be displayed on this or any other website.
